5 Youtube Channels That Are Basically Therapy For Your Soul

This is a list of 5 relaxing Youtube channels that’ll help you chill out and breathe easier. It’s not all serene, sleepy music, but it’s all good vibes.

I don’t always watch Youtube videos, but when I do, I usually end up watching videos that I find relaxing. Lots of British accents and nature. There’s probably a decent amount of ASMR to some of them, but I wouldn’t say I intentionally search that out.

ASMR (autonomous sensory meridian response) for those who don’t know. In this case it refers to content that has [soft] sounds that some people find very relaxing.

You can find so many different kinds of videos on Youtube, many of them geared towards extremes and drama. Don’t even get me started on the comments sections… I don’t enjoy those videos/channels. The world and the web are stressful enough without watching Youtube videos about it.

Give me a relaxing stroll through your garden any day. Tell me about how much you love your newest tomato plant, I’m here for it. Happy people doing simple crafts? Lemme see. Forests? I’m there. Cooking something? Let’s vibe.

Relaxing Youtube Channels to Soothe Your Soul

These channels focus on content that is positive and soothing. Kinda like a nice cuppa tea, in video form. I would love to hear any suggestions for other videos/channels that fit this particular ~aesthetic~ if you know of any!

1. Bondi Vet – Aussie accents and well-loved animals

There was a long time where I didn’t really understand the pull of animal videos and shows. I’ve definitely grown to really enjoy them in my old age though, and the Bondi Vet youtube channel is one of my absolute faves.

The vets all seem like lovely people who genuinely care about the animals they’re working with, and there are some videos of a guy that works with more exotic animals (crocs, snakes, spiders, etc.) who gives off awesome Steve Irwin vibes.

The veterinary practices featured span continents – Australia and UK locations – with some episodes even featuring trips to take care of animals on farms, zoos, and nature reserves.

Also, accents. They make everything better.

2. AlmazanKitchen – Calm cooking in a beautiful forest

Truly one of the most soothing cooking channels on the internet.

The creators of this channel film cooking videos in the forest or on a farm in Serbia. They sometimes feature small creatures that hang out and watch the food (hoping for scraps, no doubt) and cook the food using a mixture of modern tools and things found in the forest.

The whole aesthetic is very calming and the food looks AMAZING.

3. Self Sufficient Me – Cheerful, DIY gardening channel

I can’t help it, guys. I’m just a sucker for an Aussie accent.

Self Sufficient Me is a great channel for DIY gardening info and the guy that runs it is just one of the most encouraging teachers you’ll ever have. I know little-to-nothing about gardening but his videos are not only full of good info but just nice to watch. There’s so much greenery and I feel like I’m subconsciously soaking up all the plant-growing knowledge.

I’ll have a fully-functioning garden any day now, I’m sure. (You don’t actually have to garden for that to happen, right?)

4. Christine McConnell – Incredible crafts & spooky aesthetic

You may or may not recognize Christine McConnell from her (unfortunately) short-lived Netflix feature show, The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell. If you haven’t watched it yet, definitely check it out. It was initially a Halloween-related release, but it’s got some great funny/creepy muppet-like creatures that inhabit her house and help her with her amazing creations.

Her Youtube channel is similar, minus the muppets.

Even though her aesthetic is a bit on the gothic/dark/spooky (but also vintage?) side of things, at its heart it’s a DIY channel that involves creating some beautiful and intricate projects. Especially great for anyone that loves Halloween.

The best way I can probably describe her channel is like…

She’s the neighbor that all the kids think is a witch and dare each other to go ring her doorbell but eventually a kid ends up getting caught trying to get their ball out of her yard and she brings the kid in and gives them freshly baked cookies and the kid makes friends with her cats and eventually all the neighborhood kids go to her house for crafts and cookies every Saturday.

Basically that.

It’s a little hard to explain how a channel that has a sort of spooky edge to it could also be soothing, so the best way to see if you’d like her style is to just watch a video.

5. 李子柒 Liziqi – Peaceful days in the Chinese countryside

This channel is sort of similar to AlmazanKitchen in the way its filmed and the content. The creator is a Chinese woman who shares videos of her activities gardening, farming, cooking, and crafting using (mostly) traditional Chinese methods.

There are videos of stuff you never knew you wanted to know. The life of purple rice, pumpkins, and peanuts??? Yes, some part of my soul has always needed this information, especially if I can learn about it while listening to super-calming background music.

It’s both fascinating to watch and beautifully edited. Even though there’s a lot of DIY-type content, it’s not really a DIY-type channel as it doesn’t really teach you how to do anything. Liziqi hardly ever speaks.

Even without actual explanations, it might be the most relaxing Youtube channel on this list. Maybe even because it’s not explanatory.

We’re here to vibe, amiright?

It’s also hard to describe exactly what’s so addictive about this channel, but clearly, I’m not the only addict as she has millions of subscribers.

What other Youtube channels soothe your soul?

I’m sure there are videos and channels out there that I should know about but don’t because Youtube is nothing if not vast. Lemme know what to check out in the comments!

Honorable Mention – SoulFire Farm

Relaxing videos of various activities taking place on a small sustainable farm. There are videos about farming, cooking, gardening, food preservation, fermentation, permaculture, homesteading, off-grid living, aquaponics, and more! Check out the channel here.
